10ten fundraising
I have been fund-raising for over 30 years now and have supported many worthwhile charities and raised thousands of £'s. I have also put on many events with Wilshire Police where I was social secretary for many years, with my BASIC and 10-10 club and with my friends at Kennet District Council. I also raise money with my family and we sponsor two children in Kenya to give them a better life, its like having two more members of the family *smile*I have put on three 24hour events numerous bike rides, walks, photo and treasure hunts, fancy dress socials, sports day, themed nights, quizzes including one in the swimming pool, whodunits, ghost vigils, tarot parties, a pace race chase, raffles and many many more *smile*
A lot involve sponsorship though I do no try to put on socials where money is made from the entrance fees and the raffle. Its difficult asking the same people for sponsorship so doing something where people have fun and raise money is a bonus for them and your charity. I also do the occasional wedding where the payment goes to a child sponsored in Africa.
I sponsor 2 children in Africa to give them a better education and life, its like having two more members of the family
I always have a lot of ideas to raise funds and its very rewarding raising the money, helping others, I always say you have to give to be able to receive. By giving to charity you will be rewarded in many ways.
The charities I support are children of watamu, jole rider, stroke association, macmillian cancer support, RSPB and soon a community farm linking England and Africa.
Another way to raise funds for charity is the 10ten way *smile*
Basically you get ten people together who donate a £1 (or currency equivalent) and this is given to the chosen charity. Each time you get together £10 is raised for the chosen charity which will help, £10 can go a long way. Of course if you get 10 groups doing this, £100 is raised. Ideal for a company or group you can a bit of competition.Let me know if you set up a 10ten fundraising group. Here is a few ideas for your 10ten event just get together with nine friends, donate £1 each and you have £10 to give to your charity. e-mail
Here is a list if ideas, please let me know your ideas.
A coffee morning,
A one mile walk (with ten people that means 10 miles covered)
A 10 mile bike ride (so in fact ten people cover 100)
A quiz of ten rounds
A dinner party for ten
10 people posing for a photo.
10 people talking for a minute on video.
10 people getting together and throwing a duck for a mile.
10 people getting together and eating a banana or anything else.
10 people standing for 10 minutes standing on one leg
10 people spending 100 minutes not talking
10 people spending 100 minutes in a black out room
Of course a lot more options and ideas, if you have any let me know *smile* This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
You do not even do this over a distance as long as you get 10 people together to donate £1 to charity you could of course do your event in different parts of the Country or World. Via facebook or skype!
Of course it can be for your own charity.
Another idea I did and will do again is Photo Collage - £1 per photo
A copy goes on the web so people can copy and one is printed to be on the Wall of the Happy House so the children can see all who have helped make a difference to them.
You can help - can you get 10 photos or more of friends and family and get a £1 from each person?
My target 10 Collages which will raise £1000
Click on collage on right to see 100 pics which raised £100
You are welcome to use this idea for your chosen charity, just let me see your finished photo.
More on 10ten fund-raising soon
Happy fundraising *smile*
