IMG_9889-1I have had a passion for photography / video since I was 14 and it has allowed me to capture those moments in time, record a little bit of history and share some great memories. As a qualified trainer I have enjoyed training many people on how to get the best out of their camera, I especially enjoy teaching youngsters.

Many do not understand the basic and are amazed that with a little tuition they can capture some great shots which can be used in various ways. Photography / video is simple, you need to understand light and to know what you see if what you get! *smile*  your best zoom lens is your legs, fill the frame with what you want to show. Youngsters are growing up with images, via TV, Internet, mobile and even magazines. These images are taken for granted but are important on how we see the world and how we live. Other Countries are not so lucky.

I have also been lucky enough to go Africa and I have used my camera to capture images which have helped raise funds for projects.  I have also been in schools to show young students how to use a camera, the students are quick to learn. I have noticed that a lot of schools in Africa have been given old computers and some even have internet. Unfortunately many schools have limited resources and little funds but have a thirst for knowledge and a desire to improve their skills.

Ijide johnson and chris franklin gambia teaching video am also helping with two registered charities, the Children of Watamu in Kenya and Jole Rider in Gambia which help children by providing resources and support. So I have decided to start a cf10ten project called Camera's for Africa. The idea is to collect old digital camera's that are now not used, got outdated, still work but now cluttering drawers. These camera can be used in Africa to teach children to capture their  development and show the school and hopefully twin with a school in your Country.. Where Internet connection are available we can help them build free joomla website which I will host and support for free. This will give children good skills they can take on  their careers, capture their journey, Africa is a growing Country rich on *smiles* a desire to improve their lives but short on resources.

So if you can help donate a camera, collect a cameras, or help in any way please let me know. I will get some posters sorted and I will make a video when I am next in Africa and show you how those unwanted cameras can help improve a child life. Of course you will get to see the photos that are taken via this website.
